The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery
I had the great privilege today (28 November) to attend the blessing and founding of The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery in Kemp, Texas. Metropolitan Jonah and Vladyka Dmitri presided, with about 135 in attendance.
Steve, as I understand it, there will be 3 nuns and 1 novice, at the beginning. The only one I know is Sister Barbara, seen in the third picture down. She is originally from Brazil. This monastery is about an hour and 10 minute drive from our church.
Glory be to God. May it be blessed! I remember meeting Sister Barbara at Pan-Orthodox Vespers at St. Peter's this past Lent; so glad that this is up and running. Thanks for posting this.

What a blessing for you to have hierarchs who work hard to make this sort of thing happen.
